ON PAPER!

Works on paper by HAP Grieshaber, Ludwig Meidner, Toni Stadler and Therese Traube

The exhibition brings together four artists who have used paper as a pictorial surface in completely different ways. While HAP Grieshaber (1909 - 1981), the most important wood engraver of the 20th century, is presented with his woodcuts, for which he is famous, are presented by Ludwig Meidner (1884 - 1966) engravings and etchings from the early 1920s and works from his time in exile in London. Toni Stadler (1888-1982), three-time participant in the Documenta and teacher at the academies in Frankfurt and Munich, is represented with nudes. Therese Grape (* 1930) works with a brush in watercolor technique on paper. Her attractive large-format floral still lifes have rarely been shown in Frankfurt.
