ROBERT KLÜMPEN - FULLY THERE

September 4 - October 16, 2020

To kick-off the new season, the gallery shows the work of Robert Klümpen (* 1973), once emerging artist of Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, who now teaches at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle.

In his most recent work abstraction questions objectivity and vice versa:
Large color fields in vivid colors, whose gradients develop their own visual language, stand next to small, sometimes ironic portraits that recognize his art-historical role models such as Ferdinand Hodler and Cuno Amiet and repeatedly create surprising image pairs. His works have been exhibited nationally and internationally and he has received numerous grants and prizes, including the Villa Romana Prize in Florence. Robert Klümpen lives and works in Cologne and Halle/Saale; his works can be found in renowned public and private collections. The exhibition is accompanied by -> a catalog.
