Bernhard Jäger - The long path of the figure

Works from 65 years

July 11 to August 16, 2025
Opening on Friday, 11.7., 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, 12.7., 12-3 p.m.

On the occasion of his 90th birthday, this exhibition honors the life's work of an artist who wrote art history and is closely associated with Frankfurt. Bernhard Jäger, which was first shown at the Frankfurt Kunstkabinett in 1971, founded the "Gulliverpresse" with Thomas Bayrle after his training at the Werkkunstschule Offenbach in 1961 and ran it until 1966. In addition to teaching as a guest lecturer at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, he was also active at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and for many years as director of the Städel Evening School (1985-2000). The exhibition highlights paintings, sculptures and works on paper from 65 years of his work.
