For the start of the Frankfurt gallery season, we are showing works by Wolfgang Oppermann (1937–2001), who taught at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg for many years. Since the 1970s, he has condensed the concepts, codes, and rituals of art into reduced pictorial signs that examine the language of the art system both precisely and with playful irony. The exhibition takes place in cooperation with saasfee*, where the work of Anna Oppermann (1940–1993) will be on view at the same time.
