"I have been photographing, drawing and painting fountains since 1994 and in 2006 I decided to concentrate almost exclusively on this subject. I also collect images of fountains: from works of art, postcards, the Internet, brochures and all other sources available to me. These serve as inspiration and models.

I prefer to work in series and my picture for this auction is from the series "Haupdarsteller" (meaning, of course, the fountains). Some groups of works grow and/or vary over the years, others come to a standstill, but I may take them up again later and continue them.

I appreciate the motif of the fountain for many reasons: one of them is that it gets to the heart of the dependence on repetition and variation: the standing movement of a jet of water shooting up and falling down is always the same and yet constantly changing. Change as the seemingly universal constant."
