Born in Berlin on November 28, 1900
1918 -1921 Attends the private art school Adolf Propp, Berlin
1922 - 1925 Student of Karl Hofer at the Prussian Academy of Arts, Berlin. Works as a typographer and commercial artist
1925 First participation in an exhibition at the Prussian Academy of Arts, Berlin
1927 - 1929 Study visit to Paris
1929 - 1930 Study visit to Florence
1930 - 1934 Study trips to Holland, Denmark, Belgium, southern France, Switzerland and Austria
1935 Moves to Florence
1936 Expulsion from the Reich Chamber of Culture as a "degenerate" artist
1941 Conscripted into the air force in Sicily as an interpreter
1942 Discharged from the army for health reasons in December, returns to Florence
1944 The attempt to free Rudolf Levy from a Florentine prison fails. In September, deported to an internment camp in the province of Salerno. Serious illness there.
1945 Released from the camp in July. Return to Florence. Resumes his artistic work.
1946 - 1948 Restart of his graphic work
1949 First exhibition after the war: Galleria Firenze, Florence
1950 First exhibition in Germany after the war: Städtisches Museum, Wuppertal, Frankfurter Kunstkabinett Hanna Bekker vom Rath
1955 Member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund
1956 Appointed to the State Academy of Fine Arts (Städelschule) in Frankfurt. Head of the "Free Graphics" class. New residence in Frankfurt
1957 On the board of the Frankfurt Secession; member of the Neue Gruppe, Munich
1958 Appointed professor by the state government of Hesse
1959 Elected to the jury of the Deutscher Künstlerbund; member of the Neue Darmstädter Sezession

1962 Elected to the jury of the Art Prize of the City of Darmstadt
1966 Died in Frankfurt on January 15
