Born on March 26 in Hanau/Main as the son of a doctor

1941-43
Conscription, infantry, until seriously wounded in Russia

1944
Studied at the Städelschule Frankfurt am Main under Prof. Wilhelm Heise

1945
Temporarily at Lake Constance, acquaintance with Otto Dix and Karl Scheffler

1946-48
Studied at the Munich Carl Caspar Academy

1949-53
active in exhibitions, commissioned works in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate

1954-58
Resumption of studies for a job as a teacher and art educator

1954/ 58
at Oskar Kokoschka's "School of Seeing" in Salzburg

since 1959
Material pictures made from waste found on the banks of the Rhine, mounted on wood

1963
Transition to painted pictures in a veristic style (robots, dolls, androids). He destroyed his early work with landscapes and figure paintings in an expressionist style as well as his abstract work from 1954-59.
